Oklahoma is host to some of the coolest, interesting and entertaining Destinations and most are within a daytime trip! Here are some great ideas for your day off or a planned day trip!
1. Broken Bow lake/Hochatown.
Host to a huge lake reservoir on the mountain Fork River, hiking, camping, scenic drive, fishing and the coolest restaurants in the area!
2. Great Salt Plains State Park.
Huge baron salt flats covering the earth, lakes for swimming, canoeing or kayaking, and there is even a selenite crystal dig site in the refuge for the avid gemologist!
3. Leonardo‘s Children’s Museum.
This museum has tons of activities for children of all ages, educational and recreational. Highlights include the adventure quest outdoor playground, critter clubhouse, and the Nano technology exhibit.
4. Medicine Park
This park resort is located in Wichita Mountains and plays host to Bath Lake, a natural swimming hole, one stop shops for every age, and you might even come across bison and longhorns on your scenic drive or hike.
5. Oklahoma Aquarium
This aquarium, located in Jenks, is a perfect place to spend a day inside.
Plays host to the world's largest collection of bull sharks, a brilliant sea turtle exhibit, and a Polynesian reef. Children can have their fun in the starfish pools and the gift shop is just as exciting!
